Probably about 7 years ago. My little bro begged me to go support his talk so I caved. Funny, even though I have never been DF'd or DA'd I received a very chilly reception from all the adults there. Hardly anyone spoke to me. My brothers friends did but that is it.

In the congo's I was in the pioneers went out whenever they could, including many hours on the weekends. I hated being stuck with that group on Saturdays as most of my afternoon would be shot as well.

while growing up, my dad maintained a rather huge wts library.
i liked the idea of being able to pick out one of those old books from the1940s or earlier and read what they were saying back then.
well for the first time, in september of 2006 at the age of 40, i finally became a home-owner.
Hmm, I'm not sure what you should do. Make sure no one else reads it though, you wouldn't want anyone getting any crazy ideas in their heads!
I also discovered a box of books and such a few years back. I took them all to the dump (instead of recycling) and took great pleasure throwing them out of my truck into the landfill...kind of wish I would have hung on to a few things at least, just for points of reference if I ever needed it. Oh well, I have all of you here should I ever need it. I must say, it felt GREAT to throw that crap away!

sunday, may 18th was my big day.
i decided to go to beth sarim, home of the princes and ancient worthies.
so i loaded up the truck and rolled out, wondering what do you do when you meet someone so ancient that the roman empire was a mere twinkling in jehovah's eye.

i went to my usual place for the study tonight and no one is there....... why did they cancel it, this was my night out to get away from the family and kids , after the meeting i usually headed over to moe's to get spiritualized with a few beers.. great.... now i've gotta come up with a another excuse for marge so i can go out tuesday nights.. do jws go out in the door to door work in the evenings ?.

my uncle who is not a jw looks pretty bad and he's in his mid 80s and in the hospital.
my jw aunt is praying that he'll recover and see the "end" before he passes away.
she's very broken up by his recent illness, recognizing that it might be the end for him.
It is terrible! However, I remember thinking that very thing about certain people such as non-believing family members that I was particularily fond of. If they died before armageddon then at least they would have another chance at everlasting life. Oh please! I can't even believe I ever thought that.

went with the wife this week for the public talk (i simply will not sit through the watchtower study), the subject was about how poorly governments are taking care of thier people in disasters.
the speaker(who had a british accent) started by saying "burma(myanmar) had 2 tsunamis and the government sent flat screen tv's as aid for the refugees..." needless to say this dillweed lost me for the next 30 minutes of his talk about how man can't care for god's people.
i left during the study as always and returned at the end of the meeting, still burning over the glaring lie told by this "brother" which by the way no one even batted an eye in the congregation!

I am almost positive that NO ONE else approached him to ask if this was really accurate and where he got his information from. They would just take it at face value and then use it in upcoming comments, conversations, return visits etc.
Great job, but it's dissapointing that everyone else in the room just believed him. It's not like they will be watching CNN or any other news centre for accuracy. I hope you expressed your displeasure to your wife.
